Civil Judgements
A civil judgement is a ruling against a defendant in a court of law. It refers to a non-criminal legal matter and often requires the defendant to pay damages. Good News!!! As of July 1, 2017 laws changed regarding the reporting agencies. The new law states that Tax Liens or Civil Judgements were determined that they are not credit, therefore they can no longer be reported in consumers credit reports. This means if you have a tax lien
or civil judgement in your credit report, you have to dispute it out of your report. However, when you dispute it out of your credit report, it will no longer be challenged by the reporting agencies either it is accurate information or not. If you have tax liens or civil judgements in your credit report, Powerhouse Consultants can easily remove it for you.
